This week I walked myself through the very process we'll be practicing at Sacred Renewal:

ROOT. RECLAIM. RISE.

✨️Day 1: ROOT- I grounded into my body through yoga, long walks, and listening to what I'd been too busy to hear.

✨️Day 2: RECLAIM- I laid in the sun, allowing the heat to burn off what was no longer needed. I burned my fears and worries in the fire and released what I'd been carrying.

✨️Day 3: RISE- Today I showed up in my full capacity, making bold decisions, initiating honest conversations with loved ones and embodying the woman I am becoming.

It worked.

Clarity opened in my mind where there was clutter.

A miracle unfolded where I'd been too stiff to receive.

And I finally see where I'm holding myself back (and how to pivot)...

This is why I do this work.

Not because I have it all figured out, but because I LIVE IT.

Over and over, I’ve had to decide that my life, my body, and my True Self were worth fighting for.

And each time, I’ve returned to the same core practices — the ones that regulate my nervous system, shift my mental state, and realign me with my soul’s desire.

They don’t just bring relief from stress or trauma — they’re the exact tools that fuel my next evolution.

You have an incredible healing mechanism within you that is free and underutilized.

We hear coaches and mentors talking about mind-body skills, meditation, breathwork, etc but no one is taught how to do it.

If I could only do one practice, I would do breathwork.

Not only is this my highest recommendation, I’m going to teach you how to do transformational breathwork correctly and with consistency.

After a 20 year career in competitive swimming, being certified by a 4x world record holder in freediving (breath hold diving), and completing my breathwork facilitator certification with the Yoga Alliance, I’ve learned a thing or two about breath and discipline.

Lack of trust, competition, and fear of intimacy always kept me and other women at arms length until I became practiced in opening up.

It took a trip to the depth of my being to rise up in power.

I went from anxiety that brought me to my knees and such lack of self-esteem that I could hardly speak to performing live, risking my heart for love, and leading myself through traditional rituals that exposed the most human parts of me, the wholeness of me.

Always in the water and started training competitively when I was 4 years old. By the time I was 16, I had given it my all and my body failed under the stress. I pushed too far, undernourished, and injured myself. When I had to stop swimming, life caught up to me in a much bigger way- the work I had been doing in the pool was, unbeknownst to me, keeping trauma symptoms at bay.

I spent the next 3 years in a hellish ego death experience.

On the other side, what brought me back to life was breathwork.

It was then that I understood. Within just a few weeks of starting breathwork, my panic attacks dissipated. After practicing breathwork and meditation for a few months, my entire perspective shifted. I went from worrying about who I was, what I said in public to fully loving and appreciating my uniqueness and looking for ways to contribute in my own way to the health of the world.

This is not by accident or magic, there are physiological processes in the brain that are activated when you breathe intentionally to open your mind up to a greater awareness of yourself and the environment.

So next time you feel out of control, remember to breathe.

When I talk about the fragmented psyche, what I’m referring to is..

The state of your psychology.

A fragmented psyche means that along the way you were given different, conflicting messages about what is “good” and “bad” and often, there is much grey area that leaves the mind confused.

Your mind and body were wired by the conflicting messages you received as a child and young adult, as well as from deep seated desires and perspectives of your
soul.

When you have yet to reconcile the conflicting messages in your mind, it can be difficult to make decisions, feel confident, or have a strong will to do something.

In Alchemy, when we integrate the shadow and achieve a unified mind, unio mentalis, enacting our will - to change, to achieve, to manifest- comes without resistance.

This is why I speak so much about the fragmented psyche- to be as efficacious as you want to be it is essential to reconcile the parts of your psyche in conflict through shadow integration.

These three characteristics are blessings yet sometimes they feel like a curse- to be so sensitive, overly analytical, and desire so much for your life.

& Until you hone those gifts, it can feel like your sensitivity is a burden to your ambition and hyper mental activity is misguided (probably toward criticism and over-analysis).

You KNOW that your mind, if harnessed and directed, would be a super manifesting power.

You KNOW that your thoughts and emotions create your reality and if you could only tame your mind and orient your emotions toward your goals- it would be cake to achieve them.

We have to practice mindfulness, more than most, because our emotions are so loud and our minds are so active. You are a powerful creative force.

When you learn to use your mind as a tool and your heart as a generator, you will never run out of steam..

✨️So here are three ways to sustain your mental and emotional world by building resilience and honing your gifts:

1. Cleanse foreign energy - take a salt bath, dry brush, breathwork, forest bathing

I didn’t always know how to hold space.
Not for others, and definitely not for myself.

There was just too much debris, too much to process, that I didn’t know how to hold or give attention to.

It wasn’t until I found myself burnt out at the bottom that I began my journey of healing.

It wasn’t a popular journey to take at the time, one of soul emergence. People would rather pathologize the alchemical process than to walk it.

So, I had to follow my intuition and ancient texts for answers, for guidance. It wasn’t one moment, one grand epiphany that opened my eyes and healed my heart.

For my grief, my pain, my pleasure, my uncertainty, my fear, and my fatigue.

We all have trauma, even if we were raised in loving homes. The reason is because your young childhood brain didn’t have all the information to make a correct conclusion about what was happening at the time. So, often we repress thoughts, feelings, or ideas that we have because they seem to be ignored, shamed, or punished.

When you do shadow work, you’re not just digging up past wounds to look at them and assess when they were acquired, like in therapy. Shadow work and depth psychology allow you to become aware, accept and transcend old wounds by transforming their meaning in your mind.

If you can sense that there is something holding you back but you can't put your finger on it- go to your unconscious mind!

to now allowing myself to fall madly, disgustingly in love with my husband every damn day, being a daredevil in romance, and a masterful communicator in love.

Being a poor communicator was robbing me of my expression and the pleasure of getting to know others, building trust with others, and finding common humanity with my peers.

It’s no wonder I felt so lonely for so long. Intimacy, trust, and communication are essential to happiness.

When the body is holding onto trauma from conversations we had with our parents when we were very small, interactions we had with our peers as we were growing, and conflict with authority as we matured, it’s difficult to break out of that stalemate with ourselves and truly express our needs, emotions, and art.

When I healed myself holistically with functional medicine, mind body medicine, shadow work, and meditation...

Everything changed.

& I manifested him 🌹

Yes, we fight, but it’s not emotional warfare, ever. It's a conversation and sharing of grievances, however charged, however many tears are necessary… and it always works out because of trust- something I was unwilling to give any other person in my life.

This trust has taught me so much about relationships, not just romantic ones, but personal relationships as well. There is so much trust involved in relating with others.

Once you heal yourself, trust comes naturally, and everything else follows.
